Honda Launches BR-V with price tag of Rs. 8.75 lakh
May 5, 2016: Finally after a long wait Japanese car maker Honda Motors made its debut in SUV segment by introducing BR-V mid- sized SUV BR-V in Indian car market with starting price of Rs. 8.75 lakh (ex-showroom price, New Delhi) for its entry level trim in petrol variant and Rs. 9.90 lakh (ex-showroom price, New Delhi) for diesel variant. The petrol variant in offered with 1.5 litre iVTEC petrol engine while the diesel with 1.5 litre iDTEC diesel engine, with both engines mated with six speed manual gear transmission system along with CVT transmission system in petrol variant. There are overall five trims in both variants namely E,S,V, VX, and VCT.

The entry level SUV by Japanese car maker has been offered in both petrol and diesel disguises which is similar to engine line up offered in Mobilio. The petrol variant is enriched with 1.5 litre iVTEC petrol engine that churns the power of 118 bhp and torque of 145 Nm and has displacement capacity of 1497cc.. The engine is mated with six speed manual gear transmission system along with six speed CVT transmission system. The diesel engine on other side is enriched with 1.5 litre iVTEC diesel engine that boosts the power of 99 bhp and torque of 200 Nm. It has displacement capacity of 1498cc. This variant is also mated with six speed manual gear transmission system. The missing aspect in diesel variant is absence of CVT transmission system.

The SUV is capable of picking the speed from standstill to 100 kmph in the span of 10 seconds.

Finally after a long wait Japanese car maker Honda Motors also made its debut in untouched segment SUV in Indian car market. Last couple of years have been fruitful year for car maker and the way to success which began from 2011 with launch of compact sedan Amaze continued with generation next City sedan, Mobilio MPV and refreshed Brio hatchback. The major role in huge success of Honda Motors during these years has been played by compact sedan Amaze which is considered as the game changer for car maker. Going through the success enjoyed by car maker during these years enhanced the expectations of car enthusiasts across the world and everyone was waiting to see a new initiative by car maker in SUV segment. Therefore going through the huge demand of mid-sized SUV finally car maker launched its entry level SUV in Indian car market in form BR-V. Developed on the platform used for developing Mobilio MPV and Brio hatchback, car maker has not left any stone unturned to make its strong entry in this segment.
Well coming to BR-V it has been offered in both petrol and diesel variants which are enriched with same engine configuration as offered in Mobilio MPV i.e. 1.5 ltire iVTEC petrol and 1.5 litre iDTEC diesel engine mated with six speed manual transmission system followed by CVT transmission system in top end variant of petrol version. Following the design philosophy of “Maximum Man, Minimum Machine” the SUV has been developed with spacious cabin as to comfortably accommodate seven passengers without any discomfort. It has been launched overall in five trims in both variant including E,S,V,VX and V CVT in petrol variant and E,S,V, VX in diesel variant. The noteworthy features of this SUV are additional rear row seats to accommodate whole family easily, fuel efficient diesel engine tuned to deliver ARAI certified average of 21.9 kmpl and integration of superior quality leather upholstery offered in top end variant to give interior an exquisite appearance.
