30 November 2012 : The 2013 Land Rover Range Rover is here with all-new exteriors and more luxurious cabin alongside optimum safety and improved widgets. Available with two powerful motors i.e. 5.0L petrol and 4.4L diesel it smokes out terrific power and torque numbers with 503PS and 510Nm for petrol-run engine and 334PS and 600Nm for diesel-run companion. This year it was first displayed at Paris Motor Show and lately it received full 5-star rating in Euro NCAP crash tests, making it the most solid built in the segment.

The New Range Rover price is whopping INR Rs 1.72 Cr for base model, while customized high end costs INR 1.9 Cr (Ex Showroom, Delhi).  World’s first-foremost all-aluminum monocoque SUV is now lighter by 420 kilograms making it sprinting fast and safe. Some of the inventive and class-apart features are widest panaromic glass roof in the segment, upgraded auto Terrain Response System and 29-speakers that makes it best surround sound for any vehicle.

When you are sitting in car with premium plush interiors that one describes as epitome of luxury and drives through the roughest, bumpiest Indian road and do not feel the slightest body roll, you are sure to be sitting in a Range Rover. The outstanding SUV from the house of British Auto marquee that enjoys an iconic position in the auto market around the world with its class leading performance, nimbleness,  inimitable looks and class quality. The four door Sports Utility vehicle in its fourth generation is produced jointly by Tata Motors and its original manufacturers Land Rover.

The fourth generation of Range Rover is built on monocoque chassis and not the ladder on frame one adopted with the first and third generation with mass use of aluminium to lower down the weight of the SUV and now the Land Rover Range Rover is 39% lighter than its previous versions. The new reduction in weight has set the SUV achieve new heights in mileage and acceleration figures as with the 420kgs reduction in weight the engine has got more  pulling power. It was tough to redesign the iconic SUV of all times, so in its fourth  generation also Land Rover has not changed the SUV carve and cut rather build it up on the same lines as earlier with a few tweaks.

The new design elements introduced are subtle and just build on the niche styling of the British marquee. The overall length is still marked under 5 meters however the new model sits 200mm lower. The new floating roof smoothly flows from the top to the rear end of the SUV, the headlight cluster is now rendered with Adaptive Xenon Headlamps with LED Daytime Running Lights also include headlamp power wash. The front fascia is short and in the face with clear cut designing with clamshell bonnet and signature grille. The side profiling is strong and rugged with side fender vents which now feature on the base of the front doors. The rear side of the SUV is clean with the Range Rover insignia embossed at the door in chrome detailing and the LED rear lights with turn on indicators. Two exhaust pipes are neatly placed at the rear bumper.

Step into the Range Rover SUV to feel special with the new premium double stitched Semi-Aniline Leather Seats. To take the plush quality several notches higher the British marquee has introduced high gloss veneer and metallic finish inserts. The legroom space and headroom space is whooping with the SUV being the choice without a doubt for those long journeys and the off-roading experiences and with the high wheelbase the body roll is minimized to zero in the cabin area. The central cluster is bold and a forceful interaction and a mesh between the horizontal elements of the instrument cluster and the straight lining of the centre stack. The switches have been reduced in the cabin area with lot of them now shifted to the touchscreen central cluster. The safety features include Driver and Passenger Airbags with EBD, Hill Descent Control, Dynamic and Roll Stability Control, Traction Control and Cornering Brake Control.

The Range Rover line-up is divided on the basis of its engine and the SUV hoods three different engine options under its hoods. The company recently introduced 3.0L small engine in the diesel line-up enhancing the overall appeal of the SUV and with the price going down several notches down. The 3.0L engine churning out 258 Bhp power and 600 Nm output and is available in two options HSE and Vogue. The little higher 4.4L SDV8 diesel engine is available with Autobiography and Vogue SE and offers 339 PS power and 700 Nm torque. The top of the line 4999cc, 5.0L V8 petrol engine is available with Autobiography version only and coughs out 510 PS peak power and 625 Nm torque. The entire engine line-up comes with standard 4 wheel drive option and 8 Speed Automatic transmission gearbox.
