The under four meter genie of Maruti Swift Dzire is in the making for quite sometime and was caught testing recently at the Buddha International Circuit in Noida. Once launched, the Maruti Swift Dzire CS will be entering a segment that has proved to be attractive and has presently least competition. Tata Indigo eCS has been the one forerunner in this segment. Besides the Swift Dzire CS, the auto industry in India is soon to witness few more additions in this segment. Mahindra Verito CS and Hindustan Ambassador CS have been the ones that are known to have been in the making.
Overall, the Maruti Swift Dzire CS is more like its hatchback parent Maruti Swift. Based on the same platform as Maruti Swift Dzire is i.e. the Maruti Swift, the Dzire CS inherits the overall proportions of the sedan. The boot however, is derived from big Dzire but in a constrained proportion. An onlooker will be able to distinguish between 
the Swift Dzire and Dzire CS only by the boot that has been shortened to make it under four-meter length.
As far as the under the hood department is concerned, the all new Dzire CS will be offered in the same petrol and the diesel engine as there are in the existing Dzire. The K12M VVT engine in the Dzire CS petrol and D13A DDiS engine in the Swift Dzire diesel will do their duty worthily. The K12 petrol engine churns our 87PS at only 6000 rpm making the Swift Dzire CS perform even in the city. The top speed of the car is 145 kmph and it will be available in four speed automatic and five speed manual options.
The diesel DDiS engine in the Swift Dzire CS is also quite but a real performer. This 75PS churned out at impressively low 4000 rpm means that the diesel Dzire CS will be able to transmit enough power to the wheels without effort. The new Swift Dzire CS should not be understood to have compromised with any of the features following its cut in length. The new Swift Dzire CS has 15 inches alloy wheels compared to 14 inch alloys on the existing Dzire. Besides there will also be an array of features that will be part of the compact sedan viz. plush dual tone interiors, chrome and wood inserts inside besides other features in addition to the features found on the existing Dzire.

Apart from being performance driven, the Swift Dzire CS petrol will deliver a mileage of 19.1 kmpl while the diesel make will be able to return 23.4 kmpl of mileage which is ARAI certified.

Maruti Swift Dzire CS Colors

Maruti Swift Dzire CS Engine, Power and Performance
The same K 12M VVT petrol engine and the D13A DDiS diesel engine continues to be offered in Dzire CS as well. The compact version of Maruti Swift Dzire was recently tested at the Buddha International Circuit at Greater Noida by Maruti Suzuki and the new car proved to be the same performer as it had proved itself being Maruti Swift Dzire.
Since the body of the new Dzire is made of high tensile steel and is light in weight, it has in fact proved to be a boon for the new compact car. The new Swift Dzire weighs only 1000 kg and thus matches excellently well to the power-to-weight ratio. Besides, the new styling and the compact boot at the rear has minimum drag co-efficient (aerodynamic co-efficient) and thus the engine performance has improved in fact hitherto.
The petrol powered car has a K12 engine with a peak power of 87 PS at 6,000 rpm and a peak torque of 114Nm at 4,000 rpm while the diesel car has 1,248cc turbo diesel engine under the hood that delivers max torque of 190 Nm at 2,000 rpm. The diesel engine has a power of 75 PS at 4,000 rpm. The petrol car can take a top speed of 145 kmph easily without much engine noise of vibration in the body on a plain track.
The new less than four meter Maruti car will also sport a four speed automatic gearbox option. The new gearbox has been imported specially for the Maruti Swift Dzire CS from Japan. There will also be a five speed manual version available in the new Swift Dzire CS.
Maruti Swift Dzire CS Pick Up and Acceleration
The car has improved much on performance following much lesser drag coefficient and light weight body. The petrol car can easily catch a top speed of 145 kmph and the acceleration ratio is yet to be disclosed by the company.
Maruti Swift Dzire CS Interiors and Features
If the Maruti Swift Dzire compact sedan is based on its hatchback, it is sure that it will draw many features from it. And the Dzire CS is no exception. The interior too are inspired heavily from Swift viz. the steering wheel, central console design and interiors quality etc. However, dual tone interiors, integrated audio and automatic climate control are some features that will make the Dzire CS more desirable apart from its price. These will also imbibe in it the upmarket look and feel. Inside the new Dzire CS will be a whole lot of wood and chrome inserts on the dash and the door panels. Maruti Swift Dzire CS Exterior and Features
The Maruti Swift Dzire CS is based on the new Swift platform and its development has begun since the launch of the new version of the hatchback last year. The front appearance of the vehicle gives a glimpse as if the car has been made from Swift. Here and there, everywhere the Swift proportions dominate the new Swift Dzire CS. However, the bonnet, grille and the front bumpers have been given a new shape that gives it somewhat a characteristic though resembling shape. This compact sedan by Maruti inherits the headlamps from its hatchback parent besides the blacked out A-pillar.
If we calculate the exact dimensions, the new Swift Dzire CS is 165mm less than Swift Dzire and is 3995mm long. However compared to Dzire the Dzire CS has grown and become wider and higher. It is 1695mm wide and 1530mm tall. The wheelbase has also increased by 40mm reaching to 2430mm. The ground clearance remains the same 170mm. It has a turning radius of 4.8 metres which is 
slightly more than the outgoing Swift Dzire. There has been a big change in the boot space but still it is decent at 316 litres compared to 440 litres in the Swift Dzire.
The overall exterior appeal of the car has more pronounced characteristic cleaner lines of the Swift. The stubbed boot has new tail lamps that look great making it stand apart from the Swift family. Overall, the exteriors have more hatch oriented body styling perhaps due to its under four meter size. Compared to Swift the rear glass is small and the C pillar is thick to hold the boot. The new Swift Dzire CS has integrated turn indicators on the outside rear view mirrors.
Safety Features in Maruti Swift Dzire CS
Being compact in length, the Maruti Swift Dzire CS has in no way had compromised with safety thinking it a city car. The will have SRS airbags for the driver and the front passenger and the seatbelts will be ELR type. The braking system of the compact sedan will have anti-lock type so that the brakes do not lock up the wheels in case of panic or frequent braking. There is also an electronic brake distribution system in place that restraints the car from skidding while braking on turns. Apart from this, the car comes with ABS, Brake Assist, EBD and an Engine Drag Control system.

The new Dzire CS has been recently tested on the Buddha International Circuit and it has reportedly performed well. It was able to catch 145 kmph speed in no time and there was little noise and vibration in the car. Besides, in city conditions as well, the car will be able to perform well as it has a powerful engine that outputs more torque at less rpm. The automatic petrol version expected will be an avatar for those who hate constant peddling in the city traffic while the five speed manual version will be equally a performer on the highways as well. It has a turning radius of 4.8 meters which is quite good for a car of this proportion.
