November 21, 2019: Maruti Suzuki India Limited has silently launched the BS-VI compliant Wagon R hatchback empowered with 1.0 litre engine in the Indian car market with the price starting from Rs. 4.42 lakh (ex-showroom). Besides, this mechanical update there is not any major update introduced in the existing version.

 

February 21, 2019: It is reported that Maruti Suzuki India Limited is extensively conducting the test drive of electric Wagon R, that is slated for the launch next year. The new Wagon R is reported to be priced under the bracket of Rs. 7 lakh and cover the distance up to 200 kms, after a single charge. The new Wagon R is reported to receive the subsidies that are announced for the electric vehicles under FAME scheme.

 

January 24, 2019: The country’s leading car maker Maruti Suzuki India Limited has launched the generation next WagonR in the Indian car market with the starting price of Rs. 4.19 lakh (ex-showroom price, New Delhi). The new WagonR is developed on the new platform that is also offered in Maruti Suzuki Baleno and Ignis. Apart from the cosmetic updates, in its new avatar, the WagonR also receives an option of 1.2 litre engine, along with an existing 1.0 litre engine.

 

January 15, 2019: Finally the Maruti Suzuki India Limited has commenced the bookings of generation next WagonR at the down payment of Rs. 11,000. The new WagonR is reported to be developed on new Heartect Platform which also underpins in Ignis, Baleno, Swift and the Dzire. Under the hood, it will be equipped with either 1.0 litre or 1.2 litre petrol engine with the transmission duties to be performed by five speed manual and five speed AMT transmission system. In its new avatar, the WagonR will receive the bunch of new features and is expected to be offered with the starting price of Rs. 4.5 lakh.

May 3, 2016: According to reports PT Suzuki Indomobil Sales, the Indonesian arm of Japanese car maker Suzuki Motors will showcase the (Maruti) Suzuki Wagon R Crossover during the Jakarta Fair starting from June 10, 2016. The same version of Wagon R was showcased by Indian arm of car maker Maruti during Indian Auto Expo 2016 as Maruti Suzuki Wagon R XRest. It is not yet clear whether it will be launched only in Indonesian car market or in all countries where Suzuki cars being sold. It will equip same 1.0 litre K10 engine which is offered in existing Maruti Suzuki Wagon R boosting the power of 68 PS and torque of 90Nm, and mated with five speed manual gearbox and also with five speed AMT system.

 

November 9, 2015: With an objective to lure buyers during this festive season country’s leading car manufacturer MSIL has launched Wagon R hatchback equipped with AMT system with price tag of Rs. 4.76 lakh (ex-showroom price). Apart from AMT system the hatchback is also embellished with various new contemporary features includeing front dual airbags for driver and front seat passenger followed by anti-lock braking system as an option. The AMT system has been offered only in VXi system.

 

November 5, 2015: It is reported that country’s leading car maker MSIL is going to launch the AMT version of its best selling hatchback Wagon R in Indian car market during Diwali this year. Continuing the same engine configuration of 1.0 litre K series petrol engine churning he power of 68 PS and torque of 90 Nm, the AMT Wagon R will not undergo any major cosmetic changes except the AMT logo at the rear portion.

April 15, 2015: According to latest industry reports country’s leading car manufacturer MSIL is going to equip its hatchback Wagon R with Idling system.
