Hyundai Accent goes to phase out in India
Due to lack of diesel version and rising competition, Hyundai's entry level sedan Hyundai Accent is continuously reporting decline in sales. So, finally it has been phased out from the Indian auto market. Hyundai Motors India Limited, which manages the position of number two largest passenger carmaker and number one car exporter in the country, has finally decided to stop the production of this flagship car model in India. It is reported that the Korean auto major will launch a Fluidic Design based new compact sedan car in the country by October-November this year.
Production of the entry level sedan Accent sedan has been stopped and a compact sedan code-named BA is in the offing. The new Hyundai compact sedan will be made available in both petrol and diesel models. Its diesel model would be loaded with 1.1L diesel engine which is being used in European roads running Hyundai i20.

It is reported that the new compact car by Hyundai will be positioned between Hyundai i10 and premium hatchback i20. It will compete with Maruti Swift Dzire, Nissan Sunny, Toyota Etios, Chevrolet Sail and Tata Indigo eCS. Along with new compact sedan, the company could also bring out a re-freshed version of i10 hatchback and a compact SUV in domestic market by near future.
