Hyundai Eon to be priced around Rs. 3 Lacs
India's second largest car makers Hyundai Motors has stated that it will be launching a new small car to fill the gap between Tata Nano and its own Santro.
R. Sethuraman, Vice President of Hyundai Motors India, said that the new small car will fill the gap between Tata Nano and Santro, and it will be launched by the end of this year.
This new car from Hyundai will be called Hyundai Eon. It will be priced somewhere around Rs. 3 Lacs and it will compete with cars like Tata Nano, Maruti Suzuki Alto and Chevrolet Spark. It will be cheaper than Hyundai Santro.
Hyundai Eon will be amde avaialable in Petrol and LPG variants. However, there is no Diesel variant expected, as the company has said that only high end cars will be powered by Diesel engines, and not small cars.
Hyundai Eon will be powered by a 800cc engine, that will help in achieving high fuel efficiency. The full specifications and features of Hyundai Eon are yet to be disclosed by the company.
It is expected to fill the empty slot of Maruti Suzuki 800, that had been discontinued in many cities by Maruti Suzuki, sometime ago. Though, Maruti Suzuki 800 is available in cities that allow BS-III compatible engines.
Some pictures of the Hyundai Eon have already been released on the internet. The stylish look of the car is sure to attract attention of people. The new Hyundai Eon is expected to be officially launched by the end of this year.
