Dear Raj,
You can opt for a diesel hatch i.e. Chevrolet Beat, which will be pocket friendly for you alongside deliver big mileage numbers. The ARAI certified Chevrolet Beat mileage is of 25.44 kmpl, out of which you can easily get around 12-14 kmpl or more in city traffic and on the highways it climbs up to nearby 20-22 kmpl, which great in any aspect. However, the fuel economy of Hyundai i10 is around the mentioned one only that is 9-10 kmpl. On the maintenance cost of diesel engine, these days automakers are coming up with pretty advanced diesel engines that ask for lesser expense or say slightly above petrol, but that you cope up with the increased mileage you obtain. But you want to grab a hatch that has solid built quality, refined engine and a zippy petrol engine along with bear the expense of soaring petrol Hyundai i10 is a very good choice too.
