Not so impressive Hyundai Elantra

Pros : Fluidic design and good interiors

Cons : low mileage, more price

Hyundai India is promoting its new Hyundai Elantra will all pomp and show. The car is on the verge of its launch, but sadly the sedan is not exciting me this time. Although, I am a big fan of Hyundai Motors India and I own a Hyundai Accent; but Hyundai Elantra doesn’t seem to excite me. The two major reasons for this are the price and the low mileage figure. Taking the diesel variant of the new Hyundai Elantra, it will be featuring 1.6 litre of diesel engine claiming to churn out 128PS of peak power with 260Nm of peak torque.
 
 The six speed manual transmission coupled with the engine does sound exciting, but with its assistance, the mileage expected to be delivered by the sedan is only 14.5 to 18.5 km per litre. I have a good run up every day and with such low mileage, the car maintenance will go higher and higher for me. Not only for me, there are many other likes me wish to have a car that is top-notch in comfort, driver and mileage. Hyundai Elantra is scoring a very low makes in mileage department.
 
However, besides these, the look and appearance of the new Hyundai Elantra is impressive and features fluidic design and well-sculpted body contours. The interiors have been blessed with numerous advanced features that would certainly make the ride much comfortable and dynamic in the sedan. Some of the main highlights of the Hyundai Elantra comprise of power steering, power windows, air conditioning with heater, leather upholstery, tilt and adjustable steering column, huge boot storage and so on. But in spite these features, Hyundai Elantra might not be my first choice.
