Cervo: Incomplete hatchback
Pros : Nothing in this car is appreciable
Cons : not powerful, not attractive and not loaded with features
After Tata Nano, Maruti Cervo is going to be the next cheapest car in the Indian auto industry. Company is creating an environment of publicity and promotions prior launching this car. To be honest, I am not all convinced with the upcoming Maruti Cervo. I have read the details and I have also seen its pictures, but somewhere I feel that it is an incomplete car. In my view, this car has not been given the structure that it actually deserves. Although, the company has tried to make it a bit sporty, but still the side and front trims are boxy. Moreover, the 660 engine might be incapable of delivering sufficient power, like the Tata Nano. There is ample of scope in improvement of this car.
I would have appreciated if the company could have added some other utility features in this car. I have read on the sources that so far, the company is intending to launch Cervo with Air-conditioner feature and other features like Power Windows, ABS, CD Player, and Power Steering would be missing in this car.
Only time would tell, if Cervo would be a successful car in the Indian auto market or it too will witness the flop show like the Tata Nano. I have seen many Nanos running on the street but as an onlooker, I never felt that this car is good in terms of looks. Once the company launches Maruti Cervo, I would also wish to see it and then, I would decide if this car is a worth buy or not. Company has scheduled the launch of this hatchback somewhere in November or December, so I will have to wait until and unless it is out in the market.
