Maruti Cervo – It can be the best seller

Pros : Sporty, Fuel efficient and Brand value

Cons : Rumours that it will lack features

I have been waiting for Maruti Cervo’s launch for more than a year and now it has finally been confirmed that Maruti Suzuki will launch this thrilling little machine by this festive season. In my perception, Maruti Cervo would be the best replacement for the iconic Maruti 800. The looks of this little master looks somewhat resembling to the other trendy hatchbacks like Chevrolet Beat and Honda Jazz. However, this car will carry a 660 liter petrol engine that is supposed have lesser power than Maruti 800.

Expected to be priced in the range of 2 – 2.5 lakhs, the Cervo can prove to be a killing product for other small cars like Tata Nano, Hyundai Eon and sibling, Maruti Alto. Sources say that the Cervo will have some interior cues of Maruti Swift. I expect that this small car would be a good substitute for Nano and 800. Also, in terms of dynamics it looks much better than rival, Nano. If the company would launch the Cervo in somewhat similar shape and appearance like its pre-launch images, I can bet that it will break records in terms of sales.

As the engine capacity is also going to be very low, I expect that this car will have increased fuel efficiency. Being a petrol car hatchback, I expect that the Cervo should deliver mileage of around 22 – 25 km/l. I have also heard that this car is going to lack common features like AC and Power steering for its Indian version. If this would be the case, I think that it would be disappointing news for Indian enthusiasts. At least three basic features i.e. AC, Power Steering and Music system should be introduced in the Indian variants of Cervo.
