first of all it is  not an SUV. it is a hatchback car. I had one laguna phase 2 which had serious reliability issues. but it was really a pleasure to drive. when it come to the comfort, it will go par with the premium cars like BMW,Audi or Merc. not to mention the safety level. Laguna is the most safest car in Europe with a 5 star NCAP crash test rating. you will get a good equipment level even in base models. be aware that Renault cars are prone to electric faults which will cost a considerable amount of money to mend. sometimes the warning lights will show up even without any problem. don't be deceived by the dodgy electric system. best option will be 1.9DCI Dynamique (I'm not sure if it is available in India).
