Tata Safari Storme hitting soon
Pros : Plus interiors, rugged appearance, powerful engine
Cons : Removal of spare wheel from tail gate
Few weeks more and the all new Tata Safari Storme will me mine. It’s been almost a year, I have been hearing Tata Safari Storme updates and now the launch is just imminent. When I saw the SUV at Auto Expo in Delhi, I became a fan of its muscular yet elegant built. I like the present Tata Safari too but since the company is offering the new facelifted avatar with all new features soon, why compromise with the old one? The new features that are quite visible from the commercials and, photos and videos of Tata Safari Storme are a honeycomb grille flanked by projector headlamps and the bonnet endorsing a 'power bulge', chrome dual exhaust pipes and a new, half greyed-out tailgate without the spare wheel which will now be placed under the chassis. I need a spacious utility vehicle which can accommodate by family of seven members. Plus, the SUV is much more luxurious. Leather-wrapped steering wheel and wood-accented dashboard, door trims complements the beige seats.
The Safari Storme is based on Tata Aria’s platform which itself is a very famed vehicle. Chassis, suspension, engine is borrowed from Aria. Mated to new five-speed manual gearbox, 2.2-litre DiCOR motor churns out 142PS of power and 320Nm of torque. While I am expecting a better driving and handling dynamics with the upcoming car, shorter turning radius, disc brakes and ABS are clearly the sure shot features.
