BMW X6 irresistible looks with impeccable performance

Pros : Jaw dropping looks, powerful performance, superior technology

Cons : Low fuel economy, high price tag

When it comes to buying a luxury SUV in the Indian market, the BMW’s X range of SUV’s always have been among the most preferred ones. Specially, the higher segments SUVs like X5 and X6. This was the reason why BMW X6 was on the top in my list of preferred SUVs when I was planning to buy new premium vehicle for my family. Though there were a number of other options available including Audi Q7, Volkswagen Touareg and Mercedes Benz M Class.

The powerful 4.4 L 8-cylinder petrol engine of the car delivers a flawless performance on road and I have never witnessed a moment in my 6 months of driving experience, where X6 lacked in performance. It has been made up to the mark in every aspect of the performance. However, the low fuel efficiency can be considered the only drawback of this vehicle. It delivers a peak power of 300 kW @ 5500 rpm along with maximum torque of 600 Nm @ 1750 rpm.

However, I think if I would have waited for a few months more, I would have bought the new X6 facelift which is much better in looks as well as in performance. The company has recently launched new variant of this model with a 8-speed automatic transmission (AT), and delivers much better power figure of 400 PS @ 6,000 RPM in combination with 680 Nm @ 1,500 to 5,650 RPM. The new X6 is much faster and takes just 4.7 seconds to break the speed mark of 100 km per hour in comparison to my X6 which takes a little bit more time at 5.4 seconds.

With new face and improved performance, I hope my favorite X6 will continue to lure the luxury SUV lovers and achieve even higher success.
