Nothing more than a sheer disappointment: Fiat Punto

Cons : Poor pick-up and acceleration, poor mileage, poor after sale service and spare parts availability

I find my decision of purchasing ‘Fiat Grande Punto Diesel Dynamic’ for my daughter on her wedding the worst decision of my life. After one of my known suggested this car to me I bought it without thinking much as I had to urgently buy a car to gift it to my daughter and son in law on their wedding day. I was also assured of Fiat’s name in the car world and so did not think much before buying it. As the car was a gift for my beloved daughter I wanted it to be good looking and Fiat Grande Punto Diesel Dynamic comes in a stylish look indeed.

But the real truth came out after my daughter started using it after her marriage. The air conditioner in the car is not much effective. The interiors are designed nicely but only looks are something nice about it. The parts if once broken need to wait a lot to get repaired, as the spare parts are not easily available.

The after sale services are so poor that it leaves the customer frustrated if it wants for repairing and servicing.

Adding more to the disappointment is it’s more than poor performance of the car. The assured mileage of 15kmpl is nowhere in the vicinity and the actual mileage given by the car is 9kmpl. Fuel efficiency is not a thing to be expected from this car.

The worst part is that the car broke down when my daughter’s family was in midway of returning from another city and when dumped at the service centre they did not return it even a month later, and prepared a long list of damages.

My daughter has a bag full of bad experiences of this car that I feel so regretful for gifting it to my daughter on her wedding day. Buying a Punto is nothing more than a sheer disappointment.
