Honda Brio: Sensational on road

Pros : Compact form, Beautiful interiors, Easy handling at high speeds, Fuel efficient petrol engine

Cons : No back wipers, No 60/40 split folding rear seat, poor suspension

Honda Brio V MT variant can be yours at a price of just about 5.5 lakhs and this gives an impression that this car is quite an expensive choice to make. But the fact is that its maintenance cost is low and its handling and maintenance is so hassle-free (thanks to Honda’s excellent service network) that the expenses have not bothered me even a little. I bought my new Honda Brio V MT around nine months back and have been happy with my car ever since.

The car has an excellent European design that instantly attracts attention on road. The concept used in its back design is absolutely amazing and that differentiates it beautifully from other cars in the segment too. Cars like Hyundai i10, Figo, Liva and Swift do not come close in design and looks of small but attractive Honda Brio, at all.

The beauty of Brio, however, resides skin deep. The 1198cc 1.2L, SOHC i-VTEC petrol engine of this car is powerful and accelerates smoothly at low and high speeds, equally well. As such, I have enjoyed driving my car on city roads as well as on highways. The gearbox is so user-friendly that that one can change gears with utmost ease and take steep turns even at low speeds (below third gear).

It is also a pleasure to show off my Brio amongst family and friends as it has quality interiors. There is wooden finish and one get good amount of leg space. There are head rests even in the rear seats. The pickup of the car isn’t affected by the running of AC inside it, which is great indeed. The other quite an amazing feature unavailable in cars of this segment is steering mounted music controls, but Brio proudly flaunts them.

Honda Brio gives value for money. It is not expensive and makes up for its initial high costs with the comfort and privileges that it offers later.  The 1.2L petrol engine delivers sprightly performance and compact dimensions make Honda Brio ideal for congested city roads.
