Pleasure drive with Honda City
Pros : 16 valves new generation i-VTEC engine, phenomenal performance, innovative design
Cons : Low ground clearance, weak headlights
When I had made up my mind to upgrade my car, Honda City was definitely on my list. After test driving a number of cars in its segment, I finally put my hands on a red colored Honda City V AT. This is a top-end variant of City. Honda City is a tried and tested sedan and fortunately I never had to think twice while purchasing it.
However, I chose this variant for it comes with the Automatic Transmission which is mated to the i-Vtec engine. I wanted to experience the convenience and smoothness that this 5 speed automatic transmission engine delivers with paddle shifters and I was very impressed with it too. On the whole, the car performance is good, its pickup is excellent and engine is calm. There are no problems with engine even after long drive durations and it is pleasure to drive City on highways. When I went on a long drive (600 km distance), it delivered an incredible mileage of approx 18.5 kmpl on highway with intermittent AC. Within city, the fuel efficiency that my car delivers is about 14 kmpl.
The interiors are made for everyone’s comfort. There is massive Boot space and the car can easily accommodate 5 persons inside. The integrated music system with the steering mounted audio controls in Honda City is excellent and a far cry from those in the cars which I had test driven. I also particularly admire the after sales service experience with Honda. Overall, driving Honda City is a pleasure. Its plush interiors and comfortable handling makes it the best sedan in its segment.
