Best compact car award goes to Hyundai i10
Pros : Easy handling, Beautiful interiors looks and features, Stability
Cons : Mileage, Small tyres
Whenever you wish to buy a new car rather anything new, a lot of thought process is involved. One thinks of so many options and checks them out on various parameters.
So many compact cars are there in the market and thus this choice becomes difficult even more. But now when I have driven my Hyundai i10 Era for more than 20kms, all that effort seems to have paid well.
I bought it 1.5 years back. I couldn’t afford any diesel car at that time (as they would be costlier), so this was an obvious choice. At that time, i10 was pretty new in the scene but it appealed to me instantly. It was a far cry from the looks of Santro, Zen Estillo, Alto, Wagon R or any other small car. It cost me just over 4 lakhs that is quite a deal.
It gives you the power and ease of handling, good mileage and stability on higher speeds. In the city, it is very easy to maneuver because of its compact form. I think i10 is the best petrol car in this price range. Its interiors are best-in-class too, as if it’s a sedan. There is lot of space for those small things you keep in your car on a daily basis, the mobile phone, water bottles, keys, papers et al. The gearbox is at an optimum height which is extremely convenient. I felt that its pickup is slow but when it reaches decent speed, it becomes very zippy. A/c also effects that a bit but this is a trivial issue which can be taken care of easily. Hyundai i10 consumes more fuel when run with A/C on.
Hyundai i10 has really redefined the mid-compact segment of cars in India.
