Best hi-tech hatch in India- Hyundai i20

Pros : superb styling, full on gadgets, mileage

Cons : slightly over priced

Greetings to all, after I got married I was looking for a sedan that is spacious enough to seat 5 individuals comfortably. As I have to take my wife along with my sister and parents to our home town on every alternate weekends. I kept Maruti Wagon R for around 5-6 years and was now looking to experience diesel engine that ensures better mileage than petrol.

After a prolonged research I found that there are large hatchbacks too that offer sedan-like features abilities. And hence had to choose among the three i.e. Hyundai i20, Volkswagen Polo and Maruti Swift. I rejected Polo on maintenance and mileage basis, while Swift was kicked due to pretty limited rear and boot space, left with Hyundai i20.

At the very moment new Hyundai i-gen was also launched and finally mid variant Hyundai i20 Diesel Magna was selected, for which I got all the praises from my friends and relatives. Though the car doesn’t sport fluidic styling and looks, but still looks very moderns among all ongoing hatchbacks in the segment.

The interior space is very much and in terms of features this mid variant is the most features loaded one in the recent times. Five adults can sit easily while there is huge cargo/boot space at rear. Safety is fine with adequate features for all. Initially it use to deliver a mileage of about 12-14 kmpl, but after 1st and 2nd service it started to give out perfect mileage of around 17 kmpl in city conditions and 19 kmpl on highways. The high speed handling is also very good compared to my friend’s Maruti Swift, which I drove once. On the whole, it is a way ahead in the segment in terms of performance and interior space against best seller said Maruti Swift.
