Hyundai Santro Xing (Small nimble and agile elephant with a suv inside)

Pros : Smooth ride, good power steering, maneuverability & parking ease, strong body, nice fuel economy and is very rugged

Cons : Less spacious, stability above 80 kmph is still a challenge, AC performance and mileage

I am driving Hyundai Santro Xing for close to 4 years now and in traffic conditions of Delhi and Gurgaon, its extremely hard for any car to serve you for so long.

Exteriors are amazingly beautiful, best in its class. The most amazing thing about this car is that its power doesn’t die with AC‘s on. Also the efficiency of the AC is immaculate (guys I have been driving in the scorching heat of Delhi in temperatures 43-45 degrees and it cools so fast). The other thing why I chose Santro is that it has a commanding driving position. As compared to other cars in this segment, it gives you so much confidence in the driving seat that you get power of dictating terms on the road but don’t just get carried away, feel commanding but play safe.

The interiors are very good. Dashboard features are good. The company could have added a dashboard clock and rear parcel tray in the XL version at least. Side rear view mirrors are not user friendly however day and night feature on the centre rear view mirror is a great comfort at nights.

Fuel economy is nice, I am getting 12-14 kmpl with AC on (ran 25000 kms till date), I  wonder it must have improved in the newer version as today it’s a biggest need. Car is low on maintenance and after sales service of Hyundai is among the best ones, so it’s not a worry and is easy on pocket too. If you are going to purchase your first car then it’s the best car available to start with, fully loaded and ready to meet your expectations.
