Hyundai Verna -Style but no substance
Pros : Design, Style, Controls, Accessories
Cons : Engine & pickup, Mileage, Finish
There are some serious problems that my Hyundai Verna 1.6 CRDi SX has presented before me. I have recently purchased the car (just about 3 months back) and facing a lot of problems. There is problem in the acceleration and pickup. I am somebody who can’t always drive my car softly. Sometimes I do feel like zooming around and when it doesn’t happen, I feel really unhappy. Race the 1.6 L, 128 bhp turbo-charge engine of Hyundai Verna CRDi SX and it happens in the most dismal and slow way. It eats fuel but does not pickup smoothly. I am not happy with the engine performance. The mileage figures that company claimed and were reassured by the dealer are also false. I was expecting an average of 20 km/litre on highways and it gave me 15kmpl only. The story remained the same in the city. I am barely getting an average fuel economy of 12-15kmpl. These figures are a far cry from the IRAI figures that Hyundai published in its advertisements.
Verna CRDI SX is an expensive car that costs you almost 10 lakhs rupees. It comes in a great form factor, looks attractive and brings along a lot of technology and accessories inside. But if your needs and expectations from your sedan are different, please find out more. There is no way that you can find out these things before purchasing and using the car. But my suggestion is that do check from friends, family and colleagues before investing your hard earned money. It might be possible that somebody has a real life experience to guide you in right direction. My case is already in front of you.
