Many goods, less bads-- it’s all Hyundai Verna

Pros : fluidic styling, interiors, mileage, service assurance

Cons : Ground Clearance, Suspension

Hey people, I made up my mind of buying a sedan sometime back had a budget of Rs 9-10 Lakh. There were many options to choose from but finally left with Volkswagen Vento and Hyundai Verna. Lastly, took a stand on Hyundai Verna. Prior to this New Hyundai Verna Fluidic 1.6 VTVT SX (O), I use to hate the former model for its bland appearance. But with existing looks it was just irresistible. While the reason to reject Vento was its high ownership expenses aka maintenance costs.

The sedan has got great looks that can make any sedan in its segment fall flat along with its some awesome features on the centre console and attractive overall spacious interior design. The fluidic designing is real attention grabber be it signals or parking it will surely catch the attention of the onlookers.

While I have city drives majorly the gear shift s are butter smooth and clutch is light that proves to be helpful in traffic conditions. With mileage of 12 kmpl in city and 15.4 kmpl on highways I am pretty satisfied, while the suspension also works better now. However, in the period of 5 months, I had to visit Hyundai workshop for at least for 8-10 times. As I was not able to get reasonable mileage as claimed by the company, of course I am not expecting the on papers mileage, but some sensible one. Initially I was really annoyed with an overall 8-9 kmpl fuel efficiency alongside there were suspension noise issues, this got sorted out after a parade to Hyundai workshop of 8-10 times, as they suggested some special lubricants to the car.

The car is like, ‘if you behave with me gently, I will deliver you a gentle mileage, if not, be ready to face consequences (as I know how to burn your pocket)’. The engine is really good and after catching about 45000 rpms grunts sportiness….vrooom. One major concern that always haunts me is the low ground clearance I guess it is less than 155mm as it bumps very badly in potholes and speed breaker especially here in Coimbatore traffic.
