Killing looks, bold performer: Hyundai Verna

Pros : exterior design, powerful engine, lots of good features

Cons : not good for parking, low mileage, one airbag missing

Hello friends, this is again Arun from Delhi writing one more review of one of my best friend’s car. He is Ramesh living in my vicinity. He discussed for many sedan cars before buying his new sedan and then, at last, zeroed on Hyundai Verna due to its gorgeous looks and fantastic interiors.

Recently I went to see him and got a chance to drive his Verna in city for some good time. I also liked the next-gen design of the front, side and rear of the car’s exterior and with the longer size it looked better than Hyundai Eon (both has the same design language-fluidic).  Body coloured bumpers, door handles and outside rear view mirrors give it the perfect uni-body appearance.

The interior of the Hyundai Verna Fluidic 1.6 VTVT is something not found in ordinary sedan cars in India. The major highlights which I think are dual tone colours used here and there, illuminated fully featured meter console and perfect seating comfort. The car comes with air conditioner along with automatic climate control, air quality control, rear AC vents and CD/MP3 player; all these change the cabin into a luxury suite.  Power windows and power steering are other remarkable add-ons.

The Hyundai Verna houses a powerful 1.6 litre engine that produces maximum power of 123 ps at 6300 rpm and 158 nm of torque at 4200 rpm.  The mileage of the car is over 15 kmpl on highway and around 11 in city that is not bad for a sedan, I think. Five speed gearbox is a true attachment to the engine.

On the safety front, it has the best combination of goodies like driver airbag, ABS with EBD, clutch lock system, impact sensing door unlock and speed sensing door lock. However, my dissatisfaction is about the front passenger airbag, low quality plastic at some places and mileage. Apart these, the Verna don’t need the second opinion.
