Mahindra Quanto; A very basic mini SUV

Pros : good seating arrangement, affordable price

Cons : Low mileage, No petrol option, poor features

Hello all, I have examined the newly launched Mahindra Quanto compact SUV and there is no special in it, all the features are borrowed from elder siblings like Xylo and Scorpio. Just like Scorpio and Xylo this SUV can’t have huge response because its engine is fully new which may not be noted reliable. With it, the claimed mileage of the vehicle is also lower than competitors like Ertiga and Duster. We can say that introductory price decision of the company for new baby is good but the offered features are poor. Mahindra Quanto price is really cheaper than competitor but Mahindra Quanto features can make you feel cheated. It is a 7 seater mini SUV but you only get some space for luggage after removing the third row seats only. That clearly means when all seats are used, don’t expect for luggage space inside the car.

There is attractive exterior and it looks just like Xylo but always customers demand new, interior of the vehicle prove it fully basic SUV, which is another drawback. The newly developed 1.5L, 3-cylinder diesel engine has been mated to a 5 speed manual transmission and there is no choice of AT as earlier expected. The claimed fuel economy is also not good and it might offer 10-12 kmpl in city and 17.21 kmpl on highways which is lower than the Ertiga and Duster…

Its basic variant C2 is fully basic that comes packed with manual air conditioner that not seems powerful, with it dashboard of the SUV is fully plastic made that includes analogue techo, odo and speedo meters. Overall interior of vehicle is not attractive just like exterior. It fully appears a snatched SUV that has been offered with seven seats.

If you are going to have it than first of all compare, Mahindra Quanto, Maruti Ertiga and Renault Duster as an option. If you have selected it than go for the top-end model that offers some premium features meanwhile performance lovers have to look for something better.
