Mahindra XUV 500 – The off-road Beast

Pros : safety features, good looks, comfort & convenience features and calibrating engine

Cons : grinding noise in brakes and problem in gear shift change from 2nd to 3rd gear

This Sudhir Savle from Mumbai, Maharashtra and inspired from many user reviews about Mahindra XUV 500, I am also trying to tell you the reality of this crossover. I have got the XUV 500 W8 variant and from the point of safety it is one of the good SUV options available in the Indian market. It comes loaded with Dual Airbags, Side & Curtain Airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP, Hill Hold & Hill Decent Control etc.

Besides this, I think that the XUV 500 is a well designed car that can beat other cars like Fortuner and Safari in terms of styling. The front of this car is damn appealing and the rear view too is the sporty one. The side view is the usual PUMA styled one. For comfort & convenience there are lots of features loaded in this car. It has got the 8 way adjustable front seats, Tilt & telescopic power steering, Automatic climate control, power adjustable ORVMs etc. Whenever I am inside my car, it gives me comforts like a drawing room sofa set. There is ample of space in the front two cabins of the car, but the third cabin is definitely compact.

Moreover, the 2.2 liter engine of the car is phenomenal; it churns great power and fabulous torque. The practical fuel economy of this car is around 11 – 12 kmpl. As far as the problems are concerned, the brakes have the grinding noise. Added to this, the gear shifting becomes notchy and there is a lot of vibrating when you change the transmission from 2nd to 3rd gear.
