Best ever 800 needs to be upgraded
Pros : Tough make, powerful engine
Cons : Lacks comfort, no modern features, old looks
After enjoying the ride of Maruti 800 for years, I am eager to share my experience with all the hatchback enthusiasts. For last 20 years, I have been driving Maruti 800 and I have consistently upgraded its models too. I currently own a Maruti 800 MPI STD BS III variant and I somewhere feel that it too has got the reliability like its previous versions. If I talk about the fuel efficiency, its 800 cc powerful engine gives mileage of around 17 – 18 kmpl. The drive of the car is good and its runs smoothly on roads. Besides this, the tough metal make of Maruti 800 is better than any other hatchbacks available in India.
However, I agree with the fact that Maruti 800 MPI needs to be upgraded so as to make it more trendy and more finer. First of all, the features are nil in Maruti 800. You would certainly miss Power Steering, Music System, ABS, Central Locking, Power Windows etc.
Although, a car like Nano cannot be a rival of Maruti 800, but as far as features are concerned I would say that Nano is a modernized car in its price range. If I talk about the interiors too, there are no comforts available in Maruti 800 except its sufficient space for 4 passengers. To make a car more value for money product, I would say that the company should bring in the car with entirely revamped interiors that have headrests for rear seats, premium fabrics, fine quality plastics on dash board etc.

ReplyMaruti 800 is Compact design with spacious interiors, good fuel efficiency, very low turning radius, nice looking exteriors and Maruti’s build in trust.
