The All New Alto K10

Pros : Value for Money, fuel efficiency

Cons : Less space, less powerful engine

Some time ago, Maruti Suzuki launched the upgraded version of their one of the highest selling hatchbacks Alto. This upgraded model has changed engine specifications, and changed looks. I have had this car for over three months now, and it has been a descent performer.

Exterior: The exteriors of the new Alto K10 sports newly designed headlamps and tail lamps. Although, not so attractive, these features are passable. The length of the car has been increased as compared to the older version. The finishing is just fine. But the number of colours it is available in, is really exceptional.

Interiors: The new gear box is good, and the upholstery is descent enough. The power steering is a big add to the hatchback, and makes it an easier ride. The boot space available is fine for a small hatchback like Alto. The dashboard is nice enough.

Price: The car is really well priced and fits in every pocket. It comes in two variants namely LXi and VXi, priced at 3,04,193 and 3,17,193 respectively.

Engine: The engine is displaced at 1000cc with 68ps @ 6200rpm power, and 90nm @ 3500rpm torque. However, it comes only in petrol variant.

Safety and Performance: The safety features in the Alto K10 are not exceptional or very good. As it is priced really low, the safety features are minimal in the car. The performance of the car is descent. However, if you are looking for a powerful experience, this car is certainly not for you. It is good only for families with a low budget.

Final Word: Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 is a car for small families with a maximum budget of 3,25,000. It is fairly good at performance and space. This small hatchback is sure to make its mark in the Indian market where car is still a dream for most families. Plus, the trust of Maruti Suzuki always counts.
