Hi friends, I am Jaiteshwar Sadhu from Mumbai. So at last the wait is over and we have our own Ertiga (color: Fire Brick Red) at home. Earlier, we had our favorite family member in the form of Maruti Alto. After my brothers marriage we require a bigger vehicle to accommodate his family too along with us. Before finalizing to Ertiga we had Maruti Eeco in mind, while we were about to make the final decision, news came in that Ertiga will be launched in April. So it was thumbs up to Ertiga.

We opted for the entry level variant that is LXI petrol. The overall looks of the car will never make you feel that it is an MPV, neither the daring will. The vehicle if seen from sides resembles much of facelifted Toyota Innova, with its swept back headlamp design. The inside is a replica of a Swift hatchback and quality used in the making of the cabin is worth the money we gave. It cost us an ex-showroom price of around Rs 5.89 Lakh in Mumbai. The dashboard and steering wheel of Ertiga are similar to Swift. The seats are pretty comfortable, but at times seem a bit lower on height part. While the magical passage to the third row is just fabulous, it just takes a second after the pull of the lever at second to make easy access to the last row.

The mileage that we received with this LUV was of around 13 kmpl; for which I went to the dealer, as Maruti claims it of around 16-17 kmpl. So he explained me that it will increase after first service. I would rate the Maruti guy 9 on a 1-10 scale as the way he explained me each and every part of the product at the time of test drive as well as at the 2nd time when I approached him for the mileage. The all four brakes are tuned well, but it would have been great if an ABS was a part of this variant.

Nonetheless, everything a just above expectation with Maruti Ertiga, that has made us fallen in LUV again with Maruti India.
