suggestions invited-Have to choose from diesel car

Pros : great diesel engine, reliable

Cons : relatively poor interiors – sedans with better interiors exist

There can be nothing more exciting and comforting than the idea of owing a sedan which have all the requisite attributes. But everyday as I come across the news of a new car launch, I feel very confused that which one to buy. Some car is good in terms of price while other moves ahead in terms of performance and mileage. Some have very attractive external design and some offers best in class interiors. With more choices, decision becomes even more tough that which one to buy.

I live in Gurgaon and need to drive my car, say 5-6 kms a day only. But since our extended family and many of our friends live in Delhi, we have to go to meet them occasionally or on weekends.  Now that I am planning to purchase a sedan and upgrade my small car Hyundai Santro, I am facing this dilemma that which one will best suit me and meet my requirements.

I have Maruti SX4 VDi Diesel as my top most priority because I am hugely impressed by the 1.3L, 1248cc DDiS diesel engine of this sedan and obviously it comes from the most reliable brand in India. The next car in my mind is Hyundai Verna Fluidic. Its 1.4L CRDi in-line engine is equally impressive and besides that it has world class interiors. Consequently, it is a great car to drive on long routes and highways with an astounding mileage of 23.5 kmpl. In our locality, SX4 can also give me around 17.5kmpl against 19.6kmpl of Fluidic and that’s pretty okay with me. Volkswagen Vento Diesel Trendline is another choice presented before me but I am really unaware of how easy or difficult it would be to run a Volkswagen car in India. Its price isn’t an issue for me and it is also not very expensive as against the two cars I am thinking about but what worries me is that this is a relatively new brand in India. It is still to be seen that how well it fares in Indian situation. Yet, I am asking you all for some serious suggestions on this variant of Vento so that may be my doubts are cleared.

I want a car that is pleasurable to drive on short and long routes and gives me good mileage and is easy to maintain and run. Friends, I really seek your help so that I buy the best suited sedan for myself.
