A 19th century car

Pros : Good mileage, good styling, bold looks typical of Japanese cars, very low turning radius and good spacious interiors

Cons : Tyres are small and suspensions are not well enough to hold our defaced roads

Maruti Zen, the model which once took Maruti’s prestige to the apex level, now seems like its well known reputation is all doomed. I have been driving Zen Estillo variant for the last 3 years and is been good but my expectations were not met in full and sometimes I feel like I bought a vehicle which doesn’t match well with my personality.

Exteriors are good looking but lack the spicy taste that the older one used to have. Front, back and side lines are all newly designed but it looks more like a Chinese babe and not like an Indian adoring beauty. Tyres are small and are thin and not able to bear our filthy roads well. Suspension is good and takes care of the passengers well. If you ask for ratings for the overall looks I will give her 5 out of 10.

Interiors are designed well and give a refreshing feel. Seats are very comfortable and legroom provided on the frontal and rear is good enough to accommodate 5 passengers comfortably. Boot space provided is much better than the older variant and Engine now makes me feel more powerful. Pickup is much better now and ride handling is fair enough. After sales service of Maruti is best in class and spares are reasonably priced. Maintenance cost is not a worry but company has affixed a high price tag to it.

It’s a good product for all of them who trust Maruti blindly and are unaware of the current market trends and offerings. It’s a car of 19th century Maruti is trying hard to sell in 21st century.
