Renault Pulse: Finally they added the petrol variant

Pros : Cheap in price, has decent fuel efficiency

Cons : Can say it after test driving its petrol variant

 was all set to buy the diesel Renault Pulse although my monthly driving is not much, but the sudden news of Renault Pulse petrol variant series launch has brought smile on my face. It is good that they have kept the price of petrol Renault Pulse quite nominal and cheaper than the diesel variants. News says that it would be available at Rs. 4.25 lakh that means on-road it would be available under 5 lakh. I would call it an intelligent step from the car maker because majority of hatchback buyers who ride within the city, prefer buying the petrol variants of a car. The petrol Renault Pulse is powered by a 1.2 liter petrol variant and is said to deliver mileage of 14 – 18 km/l.

I have not driven the petrol variant of this car as it was not launched when I test drove the diesel variant of this car. I am sure that there would be no changes in the exteriors and interiors of the petrol variant. I was greatly impressed with the looks and premium interiors of Renault Pulse therefore; I thought that it can be the best available hatchback for my family. With the availability in the in the petrol variant I shall be saving around 1 lakh rupees.

In parallel to Renault Pulse RXE petrol, I also checked the Hyundai i10, but I was not impressed with its shabby structure. I don’t know exactly what amount would be incurred on Pulse’s maintenance. I will clear all the doubts when I will meet the dealer in my next visit. I hope that its maintenance would be par to the maintenance cost of Hyundai i10.
