Renault Scala seems impressive, planning for a test drive

I was thinking to change my car and had gone through details of many sedans, today I saw on internet that Renault has finally launched Scala sedan in India. Since I have to cover long distance every day, therefore diesel is a good option for me, I was going through the price list and number of trims offered and Renault Scala diesel RXL caught my attention. No doubt Renault has done a great job on the Scala sedan despite of being a rebadged version of Sunny sedan, Scala looks different from Sunny in looks, Scala has a premium appeal to it.

A powerful 1.5 litre K9K diesel engine that comes with a displacement of 1461 cc is equipped in the sedan. This engine generates a maximum power of 86 PS at 3750 Rpm and a high torque of 200 Nm at 2000 Rpm. But I would have wanted the diesel version in automatic gearbox, for now it is rendered in only manual transmission, I guess it would have become expensive. Though it does not make a difference for but the company cannot think only about a bunch of buyers willing to buy this variant in automatic transmission.

Mileage offered by this trim is amazing, in city conditions the sedan offers a fuel economy of 17.5 kmpl while on highways it returns 21.6 kmpl however these are the mileage numbers given by the company but in real it could vary a little. Features offered by the French car maker in this model are outstanding, the list of comfort features include air conditioner, power steering, power windows which are present both in front and rear, also cup holders in front and rear at reachable distance make it comfortable for the passengers sitting in the rear. CD player, alloy wheels are also offered as standard in this trim. This is not it, Renault has made sure that the RXL model is well equipped with safety features including driver airbag, front passenger airbag, anti lock brake system and central locking. I guess I will soon undergo a test drive of this model, though I like Sunny but this looks better but I will be able to take a decision only after I take a test drive.
