A good family car at a much better price

Pros : Comfortable interiors, refined engine, reasonable price and good handling

Cons : Mileage in petrol, look is very similar to Volkswagen’s Vento and gear box is stiff

Recently, I drove Skoda’s latest launch ‘Rapid’ and after testing it on the current general specifications I have rated it 7 out of the 10. It’s a nice ride incorporating the latest advancements in the most refined form together with French taste of modern engineering. From the outside it looks nothing short of an adoring beauty whether its front or rear or sideline everything is designed very carefully leaving no room for manufacturing error. Material used to build exteriors is of very rugged quality and gave me a strong feeling every time I touched the vehicle.

Engine is powered with 1598cc 4 cylindered engine which generates whooping 105 PS of power at 4400 rpm of torque. Pickup is quick and car responds like a sports car on a very slight pedal touch. Handling is great all the time and the softness of the steering can only be understood at the time of turns, it turns like water grips the road so hard and is a sheer excitement to overtake trucks on highway.

Interiors give a royal feeling, upholstery used is of the very fine quality and ambience inside the car is just equivalent to a five star cruise however space inside is still a matter of concern and I found the rear compartment a bit cramped especially the legroom provided is not good enough and is fit for 2 persons only. Dashboard is equipped with all the latest equipments and car has airbags for safety.
