Mahindra Reva E20 readies for its official launch in India on 18th March
Mahindra Reva Electric Vehicles Private Limited, the Indian based alliance for production of compact electric cars have officially announced the launch of its much anticipated next gen electric car, Mahindra Reva E20 on 18th March this year in India. The futuristic Mahindra E20 had made its debut at the 2012 Delhi International Auto Expo and had grabbed eyeballs of many auto enthusiasts.
Mahindra E20, a compact two door electric vehicle is designed to offer green, clean and viable option running on an extremely extended range with a one complete recharge. The compact electric car is equipped with 39.4 hp electric motor extracting energy from Lithium Ion batteries, which can be recharged through any normal 15 amp plug point.
The leading edge electric car is capable of reaching a maximum speed of 105 kmph and can run up to 100km on a single recharge. Mahindra E20 encompasses the revolutionary Sun2Car solar technology drawing fuel from the sun for augmented mobility. Dr. Pawan Goenka, President - Automotive & Farm Equipment Sectors at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., stated that the launch of Mahindra E20 marks the company’s achievement of a vital milestone in the automotive journey. The company is endeavouring to achieve leadership in the segment offering more versatility by launching green solutions for protection of the ecosystem.
Mahindra Reva has confirmed that Mahindra Reva E20 will be manufactured at the company’s newly opened facility at Bengaluru, which is India’s first platinum certified automobile facility having a production capacity of 30,000 cars per annum. In partnership with State Bank of India and shopping malls, the company is coming up with electric vehicle charging infrastructure in Bengaluru and has established 100 fast recharging stations in the city.
