New Honda City Vs Hyundai Verna Fluidic
With the entry of Hyundai Verna Fluidic, the turf for some of the cars such as New Honda City and Ford Fiesta has become tougher lading to which Verna did well on the sales chart. As soon as Hyundai Verna Fluidic was launched, Japanese carmaker Honda has pitched in the new version of its heartthrob sedan Honda City. If we compare the entry level pricing of these cars, the Hyundai Verna Fluidic is priced at Rs 8.12 lakh while New Honda City starts at Rs 8.20 lakh. A slight difference thus there is more of a tie situation.

If we compare the brand, both Hyundai and Honda are established brands and both of these are relatively oldies in India. On the exterior, where Hyundai Verna Fluidic has latest Fluidic design by Hyundai, Honda has also left no stone unturned to step up the appeal of the new Honda City. However, it has preserved the same stunning looks that are characteristic of the Honda City sedan. As part of some changes, the outside rear view mirror now also house the turn indicators besides the new ten spoke alloy wheels and a new front grille, new bumpers and tail lamps. Making these changes to the new Honda City, the Japanese car maker has made the choice more difficult for car buyers. Now it is for the car buyer to choose between the stunning looks of the new Honda City or the futuristic fluidic design of the Hyundai Verna Fluidic. The Honda City and Hyundai Verna dimensions are almost the same.

Coming on to the interior, the new Honda City is as spacious as Verna with high quality plastic. The new Honda City has cruise control where climate control air conditioning besides mesmerizing interiors that is there in both. Both also have given ample attention to safety with airbags and reinforced structure. However, Verna has a plus with six airbags and rear parking camera while cruise control and sunroof will steer customers towards Honda City.

If we compare the engine of these cars, the new Honda City still awaits the diesel avatar in India, however, its 1.5L petrol engine is impressive with 118 bhp power that returns 16.8 kmpl while Verna has two petro engine options 1.4L and 1.6L outputting 107 bhp and 123 bhp respectively. The 1.4L returns a mileage of 17.4 kmpl while the 1.6L engine promises a little less 15.05 kmpl ARAI testes mileage. Here the Verna has a thumps up with the availability of diesel engine. Honda City is available in 5 speed manual and 5 speed automatic versions while Verna has 4 speed automatic and 5 speed manual versions available.

If we were to compare handling and performance of these two sedans then Hyundai Verna reviews suggest that it cannot take on sharp turns well while Honda City has been tried and tested by many satisfied customers in India and they have all voted it as the best sedan. On the performance side, both end up at a tie.
