Problems Related To Interior Lights Of the Car
Often referred as dome light or courtesy lights, the interior lighting system is a vital component in every vehicle. The lights are normally installed on the floor of the vehicle and switch on at the time of entrance and going out of the car. The lights switch off when the ignition of the car is switched on and all the doors are closed or locked. These lights help in fastening the seat belts and making it easier for the passengers to smoothly step in and exit out from the car. Besides, the lights are also used for reading the Google map and also locating the items during the dark. In short, the interior lights are an important part of your car and help the people at the time when there is no light around them.
But, like other parts of your car, the performance of the interior lights also diminishes due to wear and tear and before switching-off completely they warn the car owners to get them replaced, to avoid any type of problem at the time of requirement. Some of the symptoms of interior lights giving up are referred below:

1. Flickering Lights: If the light flickers at the time it is switched on, then this may be due to various reasons which include electrical problems, bad alternator, malfunctioning of the on/off switch, corrosion on the battery. If the problem persists for a long time, it is better to get the problem detected and rectified by an expert technician.
2. Dim Lights: If you notice that the brightness of the light is getting poor or weak, then this may be due to the failure of an alternator or discharge of the battery. The best way to get rid of this problem is to get the alternator checked by the technician to test the voltage. For this, the voltage meter is attached to the battery terminal and the reading is measured, if the reading is less, then it is an indication to replace the alternator.
3. Lights Remain On: If the lights stay on even after all the doors are closed, then this may be due to improper latching of the front hood. If the front hood is latched properly, then there are chances that the sensors are not working properly. All these problems can be detected and rectified by hiring the services of an expert technician.
4. Replacing the Lights: The interior lights are mainly replaced in the situation when the bulb finally stops working. But, replacing the bulb is not an easy task and requires proper knowledge and the tools for replacing the cover and bulb. Therefore to avoid any issue, it is recommended to get it replaced by an expert car technician.
