Description: Maruti Suzuki India could also be referred to as the gamut for small cars in India; it has a number of hatchbacks in its portfolio ranging from an entry level hatchback to a premium small car. Maruti Alto is one such entry level car that can be seen easily on roads, this is the most reliable and one of the most affordable small car options for those who are thinking to upgrade to a four wheeler. Maruti Alto is available in petrol, and CNG engine options, however lack of a diesel trim does pinch the car maker. The petrol variant is powered with a 0.8 litre petrol motor that churns out a 47 PS at 6200 Rpm and 62 Nm at 3000 Rpm. Hyundai Eon recently completed a year in the domestic market; this was a refreshing change for the car enthusiasts who look for an entry-level hatchback. Hyundai Eon despite being part of A segment proffers ample space to the passengers. Appearance wise too Eon does not give impression of an entry-level hatchback. Ford Figo is a sleek looking hatchback that is one of the best selling small cars in India. Offered in both petrol and diesel engine options, Figo is a preferred choice in the hatchback segment due to its high performance and low maintenance. Chevrolet Beat is yet another popular option in the small car segment which can easily be spotted on roads.
