The new Maruti Celerio: A revolutionary hatchback
The newly launched Maruti Celerio hatchback from country’s leading car manufacturing company Maruti Suzuki India Limited is expected to bring a revolution in automatic transmission system of cars. Designed on EZ drive concept the new Celerio is designed keeping the problem of increasing traffic in concern. An interesting feature offered in new Celerio is elimination of clutch paddle system from car, thus facilitating the driver to drive his car at an ease in Stop-Go traffic situation which prevails in every city of India. One more interesting feature associated with new Celerio which in-fact is expected to bring revolution on automatic cars is its cost of production with same fuel efficiency performance. The new automatic gear shift system integrated in Celerio brings the cost of production Rs 1 lakh to Rs 2 lakh less than the automatic version and that also with same fuel consumption as offered in manual transmission system.
Launched in overall five models i.e., LXi, VXi, LXi AT, ZXi and VXi at, Celerio is equipped with 1.0 litre 3 cylinder K series petrol engine which has displacement capacity of 998cc, and develops the power of 67 bhp at 6000 rpm and torque of 90 Nm at 3500 rpm. The engine is coated with five speed automatic manual transmission system and also in four speed automatic transmission system. It accelerates the speed from standstill to 100 kmph within the span of 15 seconds. The front and rear wheels are bestowed with drum brakes. Similarly the front suspension system is equipped with McPherson Strut system while the rear suspension system has isolated trailing link system.
The front fascia on the exteriors is blessed with back shaped headlamp along with wider headlight followed by separate space for parking lights. The fog lamps are also offered offering comfort driving in foggy nights. Moving towards the back portion the tail lamp is carried from A Star, similarly the boot opening is copied from Swift.
The interiors of new Celerio with spacious cabin offer comfort travelling to all passengers, moreover the 235 litre boot space offer sufficient space to passengers for keeping their luggage without any discomfort. Apart from this there are various utility accessory holders which make it easier for passengers to place their various stuff easily to enjoy comfort travel. In simple words it can be said that new Maruti Celerio offered with automatic manual transmission system has potential to give new direction to automatic cars in coming future.
