10 cars in pipeline of Audi for India during 2016
Last year German car maker Mercedes Benz announced its “15 of 15” for 2015 in Indian car market and this time it is one of its strongest and native contender Audi which has announced its plans in 2016 for Indian car market. This was informed by Mr. Joe King, head of Audi India at the launch of Audi R8, with price tag of Rs. 2.47 crore (ex-showroom, New Delhi) during Indian Auto 2016, according to Mr. King there will ten plus launches by company in 2016.
It should be remembered that last year Mercedes Benz dominated the segment of luxurious car sales in Indian car market snatching top position from Audi by selling out 13,502 units throughout the year against Audi’s 11,192 units sold during the same period. But, now this it seems that in aggressive mood Audi intends to regain its position by introducing 10 plus vehicles in Indian car market in 2016. This was also expressed by Mr. King, "Yes I would like to be number one. We at Audi want to be number one, we have that competitive streak and we will be number one again." Although, moving ahead he also expressed satisfaction with performance performed by company last year. At the same time Mr. King also said that in current scenario the main objective of company is to strengthen its roots more stronger in Indian car market. According to Mr. King . "From my point of view, we are in a marathon and not a sprint. It is really important in a market like India that you have the fundamentals really strong. In a developing market, you will have drops...unless you have a really strong foundation, the business will crumble.”
About the cars that will be launched by company in the later months of this year nothing has been so far revealed by German car maker but according to recent reports the proposed cars to begin the show of car maker in 2016 will comprise of facelift version of Audi A4, A5 sedan and generation next Audi Q5. Apart from this the car maker is also establishing its service centres in the regions with potential to grow.
