42 New Electric Vehicle Charging And Swapping Stations In Delhi
With an objective to encourage the use of electric vehicles and remove the threat of vehicle discharging among customers, the Delhi government has announced to set up more battery swapping and charging stations in Delhi. According to recent reports, the government has pointed out 42 new locations in the city including parking at Shadipur, Rajendra Place, Janakpuri East, Uttam nagar east, Uttam nagar west, Rohini Sector 18, Mayur vihar extension, Netaji Subhash Place, Supreme Court, Kalkaji mandir, Kashmiri gate, Dwarka and few more.

In the words of an official of the Delhi government, with the establishment of new charging and swapping stations, it will be easier for electric vehicle owners to charge their vehicles closer to their venues. The official also added that information about swapping stations is also provided on ev.delhi.gov.in, making it easier for customers to track the charging and swapping points according to their convenience. Moving ahead, the official also said that if everything goes as per the plan of government, then there will be overall 143 electric vehicle charging stations in Delhi. The number of battery swapping stations will also go high to 62 stations from the existing 53 stations.
It is reported that charging an electric vehicle on these stations will cost Rs 3 per unit, which is quite cheaper than prices charged by private charging stations and those installed by the government. The cost of charging vehicles at these stations cost Rs 9 - 10 per unit. With this, the government of Delhi is also offering the facility of setting up private EV charging points to customers at their residences, housing societies, multi-storeyed apartments and commercial shops. For this, the government has developed a dedicated website - Switch Delhi.
