All-aluminum engine for Tata cars in India.
Since last few months the automobile sector in India is been tottering due to decline in demand and shrinking earnings. The recent hike in fuel prices and growing interest rates has curbed the automobile sale which has left the consumers in dilemma as a result affecting the vehicle manufacturing companies. But still the automakers had to increase the car prices, reason being the mounting costs of auto machinery and inputs.
Now to counter this concern of pulling down the prices and boost up the sale, the multinational automotive corporation; Tata Motors has come-up with a unique plan to produce lightweight aluminum engines. These lightweight engines would prove to be more fuel economical as they are not heavy as a result will be more fuel efficient and will address the associated costs as well. The auto giant is concentrating on the development and looking forward to use this nature of engine for their upcoming car models; as stated by a representative of Tata Motors. In the first and second quarter of the ongoing financial year, a down fall of sales by 21% is been recorded by the Tata Motors.
According to ARAI (Automotive Research Association of India) the Tata vehicles for instance Indica and Indigo provide a supreme mileage of 25 kmpl; which is the highest offered so far in India. The Tata Motors is also planning to move towards another edition of direct injection rail engine which will results in more resourceful combustion chamber.
