Ather Energy To Set EV Charging Stations Across The Country
The country’s leading electric two-wheeler manufacturer Ather Energy is going to explore its fast charging network across the country for its vehicles. According to the sources of the company, it plans to set up about 150 EV charging stations alone in Tamil Nadu by March 2023. Tamil Nadu is one of the biggest markets for Ether energy. The company has witnessed more than 50 per cent growth in the state every quarter. The electric scooter maker sells the 450X Gen 3 electric scooter priced at Rs 1.58 lakh ex-showroom price and the 450 Plus Gen 3 electric scooter with a price tag of Rs 1.36 lakh ex-showroom price.

The establishment of the Ather Grid by the company will allow electric two-wheelers to enjoy the fast facility of DC fast charging up to 80% at 1.5 kms per minute. To charge their electric scooter at this grid, the owner has to download the application, to locate the closest Ather Grid near his location. This was revealed in a statement issued by the company, "There are plans to expand its retail footprint to 15 stores and add 150 fast-charging grids in the state by the end of the current financial year”.
According to Ravneet Singh Phokela, Chief Business Officer, Ather Energy, “We have created an electric vehicle that is efficient, high quality and reliable from the ground up and have invested strategically in the infrastructure needed to support it. We have been expanding rapidly to fulfil the demand for the new and improved Ather 450X and have some exciting plans for Tamil Nadu”.
Recently the Bengaluru-based electric two-wheeler manufacturer achieved a milestone of establishing above 500 Ather Grid charging stations throughout the country. Information regarding was shared by the company sources in a statement regarding the setting up of the 580th Ather Grid. The sources also said that the company plans to set up 820 more Ather Grids within the country to touch the mark of 1400 Ather Grids by March 2023. Recently, the Hero MotoCorp partnered with the Ather group to use its Ather Grid for charging its V1 electric scooter. The Ather group has also signed an MoU with the Karnataka government for establishing its EV charging stations at different locations in the state.
