Audi Q3 marks the beginning of Dubai International Motor Show

Dubai International Motor Show 2011, commenced in style with the German luxury car marquee, Audi unleashing their all new compact SUV Q3 on Thursday. With commendable success of the current utility vehicle Q3 unveiled earlier this year, the all new compact form is speculated to give tight competition to its closest rival in the name of BMW X1. The mesmerizing machine is expected to go under full fledged production by the start of the next year. However, at the time of unwrapping, the price part was not disclosed but it is ruminated to be in the same price range as that of its German counterpart.

Available in four engine options, Audi Q3’s petrol engine has displacement of 1984 cc while its diesel one will be of 1968 cc. The petrol powertrains with 168 bhp and 208 bhp of maximum power have top speed of 208 kmph and 230 kmph respectively. As far as the acceleration from 0-100 kmph is concerned, 168 bhp one covers the slot in 8.4 seconds while the same is accomplished in 6.9 seconds by the 208 bhp one. The four interlocked ringed company carries the trend of Quattro technique in this crossover as well with 7 speed S Tronic transmission fitted.

For feature lovers, this all new Audi Q3 will come loaded with automatic climate control, heat insulating glass, 7" color display with 3D navigations, Bluetooth connectivity, xenon headlights, daytime running lights (LED), LED taillights, panaromic glass sunroof, Audi active lane assist, WLAN hotspot,17" alloys wheels, child seat mounting, audio system with Bose surround sound system having 14 speakers, etc. Interestingly, Q’3s bootspace of 460 is expandable to 1,365 lts by lowering rear seats.

Audi has designed this SUV in such an efficient manner that it can easily seat five passengers inspite of being a compact car. Dimensions of Q3 comprise of 4.3 m of length, 1.83 m of width, 1.59 m of height and 1,640 kg of weight makes it the lightest in its segment.
