Audi Q3 undergoing road tests, to be launched by mid of this year
Audi, the leading German auto-grand in India is giving a tough fight to its sibling, BMW and another German auto-giant, Mercedes Benz. These days, Audi is getting attention of automobile media due to its much anticipated compact crossover, Audi Q3. Recently, this car has been seen undergoing road tests in outskirts of Mumbai. Audi is working hard to make this crossover one of the best sellers in the domestic auto-market.
Earlier, the company revealed a prototype of this car at the Auto Expo Delhi 2012. Not only the Q3, but also the revamped Audi A4 is expected to be launched within this year. Although, Audi has not revealed any information regarding the launch of SUV, Q3, but according to the automobile sources this car is going to be introduced in the Indian auto market by September or October, this year.

The compact crossover, Q3 is built on the platform of its parent unit crossover, Volkswagen Tiguan. Moreover, Audi is planning to introduce the Q3 in both 2WD and 4WD options. Furthermore, there is a buzz that the company would use a 2.0 liter diesel inline in this car, which has also been used in Audi A4, Volkswagen Passat and Skoda Superb. A six speed automatic transmission is also going to be a major attraction in this car. The price of Audi Q3 are not yet out, but from the dynamics and features it seems that Audi would bring in the Q3 as a BMW X1 rival, which is speculated to come at the price of Rs. 25 lakhs.
To cater more options of buying Audi cars across the nation, the company is also looking forward to expand its service outlets from 15 to 23, by the end of this year. Audi has earlier declared its intentions to become the best luxury car brand in India by 2015, leaving behind its sibling brand BMW and Mercedes Benz.
