Audi S4 high performance variant could be launched in India
During the Audi A4 launch yesterday in Mumbai, the German auto honcho hinted at the launch of new Audi S4 in the domestic market. The car is currently being copiously tested and is likely to be India bound, the other German luxury brands, BMW and Mercedes Benz too have high performance cars in their fleet of cars and here we are referring to the Mercedes Benz C63 AMG and BMW M3. These are the entry level luxury saloons offered by the German duo.

The reason that strengthens our belief that Audi A4 is India bound is that the company did not bestow the 3.2 TFSI engine upon the revamped Audi A4 sedan which is launched yesterday only in India. Audi S4 sedan will do some soft changes as compared to the new A4 variants. Audi S4 luxury sedan is expected to get redesigned head lights, a declined front bumper with a revamped air dam that will render a sporty look to the car. It will be offered in numerous colour options too, apart from this the car will have 18 inch wheels that will distinguish it from the rest of its rivals. On the interior front, the Audi S4 will be equipped with a sporty steering and it will also come with other changes to render it a sporty look. Audi will place the S4 sedan above the Audi A4 saloon considering that it is a high performance variant and will be tagged accordingly.

Under the hood would be the 3 liter TFSI powertrain that can generate maximum power of 333 Bhp and a robust torque of 440 Nm. The engine will be harmonized to a 7 speed dual clutch automatic gearbox coupled with a manual S-Tronic shifting function. The car can zoom from zilch to 100 in a short span of 5 seconds and attain top speed of 250 kph. Audi’s Quattro all wheel drive state is standard on the S4 sedan, while the suspension comes with an extremely harmonized mode to make sure sharp handling and which also contributes toward the sporty look of the car.
