Sometime back the global car market was abuzz with the rumours of Audi testing a new SUV in the bodyshell of Q5 SUV. Later it was reported that the SUV which was caught testing was the new Audi Q6. This is not it; Audi is already working towards the new generation of the popular crossover, Audi Q7. The new range of Q Series is speculated to be placed below the crossovers already present in the Q Series that is Audi Q5, Audi Q7. The even numbered Q Series crossovers unlike the odd numbered Q Series crossovers will be road biased opposite to the odd numbered Q Series crossovers which are off roaders.

The new generation of the Audi Q7 crossover will be based on the MLB-evo platform that originally belongs to Volkswagen. The present generation Audi Q7 is based on the Porsche Cayenne and Volkswagen Touareg platform. It is expected that the platform sharing will continue in the coming generations of these cars. Out of the new addition in the Q Series, it is yet to be seen as to what all SUVs will make it to the Indian shores. In India Audi recently launched the new Audi A4 sedan and is all set to roll out the new Audi Q3 compact SUV in June, also the company is contemplating to launch the new Audi S4 in India.
