Auto Expo 2014: Hyundai showcases Hyundai i20 hatchback WRC version
Korean auto giant Hyundai today displayed the new avatar of its i20 hatchback in WRC version which is specifically a rally car and will participate in 2014 World Rally Championship and driven by Hyundai Shell World Rally Team. The Hyundai i20 WRC car is powered by 1.6 litre turbocharged engine producing the power of 300 bhp and torque of 400 Nm. The power to all wheels is transmitted through six speed sequential gearbox. Although the car is designed on the platform of i20 hatchback but is broader by 100 mm and has been upgraded with necessary features which are required for participating in car rallies.
It would be interested to know that Hyundai started in participating in car rallies since 2003 through his team known as Hyundai Shell World Rally Team. At present the team is participating in Rally of Sweden with same car.
