BMW 1 Series coming to India in 2013

BMW has been one of the most lavish and premium car makers in the world. This German auto major is ready to bring in BMW 1 Series to India in 2013. However, there is no exact date set for the launch as of now, but, the company is hoping to bring this one to India as soon as possible.

Getting into the detail, the BMW 1 Series will be assembled locally at the Chennai Facility of BMW India. There, currently BMW 3 Series and BMW 5 series sedans are assembled along with the BMW X1 Compact SUV and diesel variant of X3. As compared to the CBUs, the CKD assembled in India chop down the prices substantially, thereby making it affordable for the Indian consumers. Same will be the case with BMW 1 Series. The car will be assembled in India. The Chennai Plant of BMW has a capacity to churn out 11000 units annually. With the launch of BMW 1 Series, if the demand for it grows in the country, the company will definitely have to expand the production capacity of the plant.

Talking about the BMW 1 Series, it is a premium hatchback, which has the best of BMW’s traits. For BMW fanatics, it will surely be a delight to drive this one. It is powerful, compact in size, smartly built, agile and most importantly loaded with tons of comfort and safety features. What is more interesting here is that the car is a rear wheel drive, which would further provide the driver an amazing driving experience for sure.Right now, nothing much has been revealed about the car, specially the pricing strategy. However, we can expect it to be priced competitively in order to survive this thriving market.
