BMW Mini to launch in India
BMW has confirmed the launch of its brand MINI in India. Mini is a car brand which manufactures only premium segment hatchbacks, and it is owned by BMW. There have been speculations of Mini's launch in India, since long.
BMW India's President DR. Andreas Schaaf said that he is trying to convince top bosses to introduce the brand in India. According to him, he is a fan of the Mini.
The Mini has a huge following in foreign countries. There are Mini lovers in India as well, and this will a gift for them. Though, The models that will be launched for the Indian market have not been disclosed as yet.
Indian market is still new for premium segment hatchbacks. Volkwagen Beetle and Fiat 500 are already available in the Indian market, but these premium hatchbacks have not been able to produce god sales figures. But, as the Indian market is growing at a rapid speed, these premium hatchbacks are expected to do well. Plus, the launch of the Mini should create a buzz in the market. Meanwhile, Mercedes-Benz is also planning to launch B-Class by the mind of next year. It will be a serious delight to see the Mini running on Indian roads.
The prices of these cars are still a mystery. But the expected price of the Mini is believed to start from is Rs. 18 Lacs. However high the price might be, however long the waiting period might be, these small premium class hatchbacks from the Mini, or BMW, are worth it.
