BMW Starts Booking for BMW 1 Series: September 3, 2013, Expected launch Date
To strengthen its earlier announcement of launching its highly awaited BMW series 1 premium hatchback on September 3rd, 2013, the German auto giant BMW has started booking in Indian car market. According to sources for this BMW has started informing to its probable customers through emails. It is also reported that to encourage the booking for series 1 hatchback, BMW has also made an interesting offer to customers, according to which the first 100 customers will be offered a free package known as BMW Service Inclusive Plus.
It would be interested to know that new BMW 1 series will be introduced in two variables i.e., in petrol and diesel. The petrol variants will powered with 1.6 litre turbocharged direct injection powerful engine that will be capable of generating power of 136 bhp, whereas the diesel variable will be energized with 2.3 litre engine that will be able to churn the power of 143 bhp. As far the price of series 1 BMW premium hatchback is concerned it is speculated to fall between Rs 20 lakh – Rs 25 lakhs. The manufacture of BMW 1 series is being carried out company's workshop located at Chennai.
The announcement regarding the launch of BMW 1 series has given birth to debate among the car enthusiasts who are keenly waiting for interesting competition between BMW and its strong contender Mercedes, whose two variants, A class and B class are already exiting in hatchback segment of Indian car market. Another strong contender of BMW 1series is Audi, which speculates to launch low priced Q3 sports utility vehicle soon in India. Going through the taste of Indian customers towards low priced vehicles various car manufacturing companies have started introducing such vehicle in market so as to enhance their sales. It is expected that during coming festive season Indian car market will witness strong competition between luxury car manufacturers with each one trying to establish its dominance.
