BMW unveils 2 Series Active Tourer before the Geneva Motor Show 2014

BMW, the German luxurious auto giant has unveiled its saloon MPV 2 Series Active Tourer quite earlier before its global display at upcoming 2014 Geneva Motor Show. The new vehicle will be launched against Mercedes Benz B Class sedan and will be company’s first vehicle which will be blessed with front wheel drive. The entry level 218i will be equipped with 1.5 litre three cylinder petrol engine boosting the power of 126 bhp and torque of 230 Nm, while its another sibling 225i will be blessed with 2 litre petrol engine developing the power of 231 bhp and torque of 350 Nm.  The former accelerates the speed of 100 kmp from standstill within the span of 9 seconds while the later picks the speed of 100 kmp in just 6.8 seconds.
 
Physically the upcoming BMW 2 Series Active Tourer has the length of 4342 meters, width of 1800 mm and height of 1555mm.  It has the wheelbase of 2,670 mm and high roof thus making it easier for tall person to accommodate comfortably inside the cabin. The front fascia is developed with company’s BMW kidney grille covered with two circular headlights. 
 
The rear has been developed with Hofmeister tweek at the rear windows followed by L-shaped rear lights. Inside the cabin the control of various utilities are offered near the driver seat. Apart from this it also bestowed with boot space of 468 litres which can be further turned into 1,510 litres. Other impressive feature offered inside the cabin includes sliding rear seat, which facilitates the passengers to properly place their luggage inside the car.
